WiFi Explorer on Apple silicon Macs running macOS Ventura or later may not identify Wi-Fi 7 networks as 802.11be and show an incorrect channel width when scanning using the built-in Wi-Fi interface due to missing EHT Operation (Ext ID 106), EHT Capabilities (Ext ID 108), and Multi-Link (Ext ID 107) information elements in the scan results provided by the macOS’ CoreWLAN framework. Apple Feedback: FB13078660.
WiFi Explorer Pro 3 running on macOS Sonoma will not display networks configured on standard power APs. It seems that macOS Sonoma is filtering out SP APs from the scan results when using active scan mode. As a workaround, you may use passive scan mode if available.

WiFi Explorer was working fine and now it shows no scan results. What’s wrong?
In some cases, after an update, macOS Big Sur or Monterey fails to give WiFi Explorer the necessary permissions for scanning. When this problem occurs, WiFi Explorer shows no scan results even though networks are in range.
I have multiple wireless devices (e.g. iPhone, iPad) but I can’t find them in the list. Why?
WiFi Explorer is not a network discovery tool. WiFi Explorer only scans and displays the information of the wireless networks that can be found within range of the computer running the app. It cannot detect or display information of client devices such as your laptop, iPhone, iPad, etc.
Can WiFi Explorer detect hidden networks? What about WiFi Explorer Pro?
Yes, both WiFi Explorer and WiFi Explorer Pro can detect and show information about hidden networks.
Can I use external Wi-Fi adapters with WiFi Explorer? What about WiFi Explorer Pro?
No. WiFi Explorer is required to use CoreWLAN, Apple’s official framework for Wi-Fi scanning, and this framework does not recognize external wireless adapters. Support for externals Wi-Fi adapters is available in WiFi Explorer Pro using EASE.
By looking at the scan results in WiFi Explorer, how do I know which network I am connected to?
The network you are connected to is displayed in the scan results using a bold font.
